Village School first opened its doors in September 1995, founded and built by Jamie Knorr and Proal Heartwell. It was the first all girls middle school in the country, and quickly became a place for girls to flourish in their love of learning.

In June 2024, Jamie Knorr retired from his position of history teacher at Village School. This party will also be an opportunity to celebrate Jamie's decades of teaching and the legacy he leaves.

In 2015, after co-running Village School for 20 years, Jamie and Proal named Eliza O'Connell Village School's first Head of School. Eliza is in her 10th year of leading the school today.
